Janelle Hacault is a professional contemporary dancer, choreographer and educator from Winnipeg MB, now based in Montréal, QC. She is a graduate of the Senior Professional Program at the School of Contemporary Dancers in Winnipeg, trained actor, and holds a BA Honours degree from the University of Winnipeg.

She has had the privilege of working with Nafro Dance Productions, Odette Heyn Projects, Nova Dance Collective, Gearshifting Performance Works, Alexandra Elliott Dance Inc, Riley Sims, Zorya Arrow, Young Lungs Dance Exchange, Ming Hon, Compagnie Entitey/Jason Martin, Trip The Light Fantastic (Kyra Jean Green), Charles-Alexis Desgagnés, Andrea Peña, Sylvain Émard Danse, and Les 7 Doigts de la Main.

Her work has toured across Canada and parts of the USA. Her newest creation, Shapeshifters premiered on September 12th, 2018 at Place des Arts, Cinquième Salle for Festival Quartiers Danses and recently reworked for LocalMotion Lab production March 2019.

Janelle is currently doing research with Sylvain Émard Danse and just finished a project with Les 7 Doigts de la Main playing the lead female role. Later in March 2019, she performed a new solo called One Moment in Time by Trip the Light Fantastic (Kyra Jean Green) which was then integrated into the company’s presentation of The Man Who Traveled Nowhere in Time - part 2, a film debut and immersive performance thanks to Danse/Danse Montréal, at Arsenal Contemporary Art museum. In May, Janelle will be choreographing her third musical, Mamma Mia for the Flin Flon Arts Council in Flin Flon, Manitoba.

She is co-founder of Nova Dance Collective, .6 Ricochet, and co-creator of thedancepost.org. Her past choreographic works include Falling, Imprimatur, Lament, and Overtaken.
